Minute Maid Juice Site

BYU Dining services was doing promotions for Minute Maid Juice on campus. I was recruited by the director to design this web site for the campaign. I used a lot of stock photography of fruit and juice from the SASCM library to create a juicy image. Emphasis was also placed on bright, saturated colors in the simple interface.

Discovery Investment Group Web Site

D.I.G. needed a web site in a hurry to promote their business for a convention. I designed the site in under a week and got them a flyer and tradeshow booth design in time for their first convention.

Where's Cosmo?

This web site was designed for a BYU Dining Services contest in 2004. Animated images of Cosmo (BYU's Mascot) were hidden in the existing images of Dining Services web sites. Students would see Cosmo hiding behind food or other images, and mouse over him as he revealed himself and a sign that said "You got me!". They would then click on Cosmo and jump to a page on the Where's Cosmo site where they could enter a sweepstakes to win prizes. The contest got canceled out of sensitivity to the year's events, but the design seemed successful.

Media Fast Mini CD-ROM

The director of sales and marketing for Media Fast needed a Mini CD-ROM for the 2005 NAB show in Las Vegas. A simple interactive presentation was needed to establish the Media Fast identity, promote Media Fast's products and services, and provide a springboard to the corporate web site.

Media Fast Web Site

Media Fast provides CD & DVD replication and a variety of additional services. They needed a new corporate web site to promote their products and services to the world, and this was the answer - a very formal blue design with a lot of clean line drawings for products and supporting graphics with photos of business people who seem friendly and professional interacting with optical media and digital devices. To make it easier to browse the site on mobile devices, scripted navigation was avoided. To see the outcome, visit the site here: http://mediafast.biz

MormonRingtones.net

My brother wanted to make a web site to sell LDS themed ringtones, and I needed to figure out what to give him for Christmas (2005). The two objectives seemed to fit together perfectly. So, I gave my bro a business in a box (including the name, logo, domain, site design, icons, promotional images and a first draft of the content) and helped him launch the site in early 2006. The design was simple and clean so people wouldn't be afraid to browse a bit. It's become a popular attraction since, and the inventory has expanded to include a larger library of music for the LDS community. Check it out at: mormonringtones.net

Legends Grille Web Site

Legends Grille was a new sports restaurant at the Student Athlete Building on BYU Campus. A new web site was needed to promote its location and menu. An interactive Flash header helped to indicate the location of the restaurant and expose its interior to online visitors. A short and entertaining video was created for the plasma screen graphic by editing public domain footage.

Virtual Showroom Web Site

The Virtual Showroom web site was designed with a corporate appeal and an electric blue color scheme with contrasting orange accents.

2005 BYU Meal Plans CD-ROM

The BYU Meal Plans identity established in 2004 by Brad Dowdle was inspired by a classic 1950's retro style. In 2005, I created a new CD-ROM in Director that could run on a Mac and a PC. I enhanced the existing identity a bit with some supportive photography and animations. Then, I added some more video and an interactive map that helped students find locations on campus where their meal plans would be accepted.

The Skyroom

The Skyroom Restaurant at BYU needed a new face for its web presence. The objective was to focus on its personality as a restaurant or bistro and create an identity separate from BYU's. Vibrant food photography which enticed people to visit the restaurant was the focus of the site.

Live Life CD-ROM

The Live Life multimedia presentation was designed for BYU On-Campus Housing to help them publicize information about living on BYU's campus. The design needed to have a more formal feeling because it was going to be mailed out to parents of incoming freshmen. The navigation was expandable and collapsible to make the CD-ROM easier to navigate.

BYU Catering

This redesign of the BYU Catering web site was created with a fire & ice color scheme that emphasized the vibrance of food photography presented on the site while reinforcing the BYU identity. Repeated impressions of the BYU logo in the interface design also serve as an added layer of identity support.

BYU Games Center

The BYU Games Center didn't have much information to publish on their web site, so they wanted to make up for it with images and interactive Flash content. I had some fun building the site with easter eggs hidden in page headers and a bowling themed version of Space Invaders, the classic Atari game.

BYU International Cinema

BYU's International Cinema was in need of a new look. "More cinematic, less blue" was the exact request. The project was also running on a very low budget, so I had to use inexpensive stock photography from ClipArt.com to create the scene and the animated graphics for the projection screen. View the site at: http://ic.byu.edu

BYU Student Auxiliary Services

Student Auxiliary Services (SAS) needed a new web site that moved focus from administrative content and emphasized the products and services of the division while reinforcing the existing identity of the university. http://byu.edu/sas/

Emu Studio Web Builder

The Emu Studio Web Builder allowed users to build their own web sites from professionally designed templates without dealing with the complication of HTML code. A warm and neutral color combination created a vibrant image that created excitement for users of the product.

NextMethod Web Site

NextMethod is a media solutions company that offered web hosting, web design and development, and multimedia production. The corporate web site had to be something that lended credibility to the business because it was the main point of sale.

HomeStar Flash Commercial

HomeStar needed some intense visuals to create hype for their products on their web site in 2001. This Flash animated commercial summarized the products and services that HomeStar had to offer in a short, exciting presentation. The commercial can be viewed at: http://www.johnlepinski.com/flashmedia/homestar.html

HomeStar Technology, Inc.

I designed this site and all of its components (including the Work Center, the Corporate Center, the Education Center, and the Play Center) for Homestar Technology, Inc. My work also included flash games and a flash presentation.

My Dusty Old Portfolio Site

This old site lasted me quite a while, but it is definitely time for a replacement. If you still want to see the old beast, just go to: http://johnlepinski.com/index_old.html
